The Way is described in six sections, this being divided in a manner
that will suit the general long-distance walker. The route also has an alternative
route option in the third and fourth sections which adds interest
to the Way. This route choice and dividing the sections into different lengths can
provide a wide range of walking options but accommodation and services
may prove to be somewhat more difficult to arrange in some of these cases.
To access each of the sections either click on the requisite part of
the map or utilise the right-hand buttons.
In addition the website carries a lot of extra
information that will help the walker plan for the walk.
Prospective walkers are encouraged to also access all the navigations
buttons on the left or below to learn about the interest, news &
history related to the walk, and to plan for accommodation & services
that will make the walk possible.
We strongly encourage all walkers who are requiring overnight
accommodation to only start the walk when they have this arranged.
This is not a walk where there are opportunities to pick up beds
without prior booking (except for Selkirk, Galashiels and Melrose areas).
Neither is it a walk where you can easily find transport to
populated areas.
There has now been introduced a Walker's Completion Certificate. This is available
free of charge for any walker who has completed the 92/94 mile route in a continuous walk. Click here to find our more information.
